Dear future me,
I write this note with no specific date or time in mind, just sometime in the future.
You're a live life to the full kind of person with goals and dreams and a bucket list the size of an oil tanker. I hope there are more and bigger goals on the list when we catch up on this. How are you doing on that front?
Heraclitus said that change is the only constant in life and I wonder how the change that I'm not aware of today influenced the goals and dreams in the future. Did your goals change much?
You also believe that your destiny is something you create and not something that awaits you - I sincerely hope you took charge of your destiny and made it happen.
How's business? I know you had big plans and goals to achieve. I hope it all worked out in the end, one way or another. Nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that.
One of the goals was to make a positive difference in peoples lives and create opportunities for people to grow and excel. It will be good to catch up on this in the future and with hindsight, see how that worked out. I really hope there are plenty good stories to share in this regard.
Did you have as much fun along the way as you thought you could? Having fun is such an important part of life. When we look back in the future I hope there's plenty of fun to reminisce about.
By the way, did you ever learn to play the guitar properly? You were always a little lazy when it came to practice and I often wonder if you overcame that. And the songs - did you at least keep writing songs?
There's a lot of hope scattered in this note. Aristotle said that hope is the dream of a waking man, so I'll keep hoping for the best.
Till somewhere in the future, good luck.
Regards,
Herman
